Bees are most active in Snohomish county during the summer and fall. The most common type of these pest are Yellow Jackets, Paper Wasps and Hornets. Paper wasp are 3/4” long and more slender. They have long legs and coloring which is usually red and yellow or mostly yellow with small areas of black. Paper wasp's are generally more aggressive than yellow jackets.
Hornets
Hornets are among the largest of the wasps. Some hornets can reach up to 2.2 inches in length. They are usually yellow and black in color. Most hornet nests die off in the winter. Hornets thrive in Snohomish County during the spring and summer. A hornet's nest can have up to 700 hornets at the peak of its population.
